This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

The plot of "The Big Country" follows the character of James McKay, played by Gregory Peck, a retired sea captain from the East who comes to the American West to marry his fiancée, Patricia Terrill, portrayed by Carroll Baker. McKay finds himself drawn into a feud between two powerful ranching families, the Terrills and the Hannasseys, led by Major Henry Terrill, played by Charles Bickford, and Rufus Hannassey, portrayed by Burl Ives.
